Hello, my people. 

My name is SuNom, and I am the founder and creative director behind DAWOMI.  

I founded DAWOMI as a bridge between where I was born, Nigeria and where I was raised, the UK. DAWOMI is reflective of my rich African roots and the diversity of my British upbringing. The name DAWOMI originates from the Hyam word "dawo," meaning mother. A term of endearment that I have heard countless times, which I have repurposed to mean "my carer" or "my protector."

Growing up between two cultures, I experienced a sense of uncertainty around my identity. However, within that were moments of discovery that helped shape my perspective, realising that where I come from, informs where I am headed. At its core, DAWOM exists to celebrate that journey.
